#EmployeeSpotlight : Harsh.B’s journey from an Account Executive to Business Analyst🚀

The freedom to explore, make mistakes while trying out new things, and learn has kept Harsh Budhani, an Account Executive turned Business Analyst at Katyayani Organics, hooked for the last two and a half years.

Harsh joined Katyayani in December 2022 and has seen the growth of the organisationn from the nascent stage.

His learning over the years has aided his transition from his previous position to Business Analyst. We spoke with Harsh about his early professional years, transitioning between roles, a career in account management, and how Katyayani accelerated his career growth.

Q. How has been your journey before joining Katyayani Organics?

After completing my graduation, I began my career with a year in customer support, including a six-month internship. During this time, I honed my skills in Excel and ERP software for accounting. My next step came through Naukri.com, where I was hired as an Account Executive at Katyayani Organics. Over the past two years, I have transitioned into the role of a Business Analyst (BA), working directly with the dynamic top management team—a journey of immense growth and learning.

Q. Why did you choose to transit from MIS role in Accounts to Business Analyst?

My interest in Excel sparked a deeper curiosity in data and analytics. When an opportunity for a BA role opened up, the organization recognized my dedication and skillset and entrusted me with this new position. This transition allowed me to align my work with my passion for data management and problem-solving.

Q. How did you overcame challenges during the transition?

As a fresher, stepping into an unfamiliar domain was daunting. I had to learn new tools and adapt to working with a different team. I started from scratch, dedicating extra hours to mastering software and improving team collaboration. By breaking down processes, patiently guiding my team, and leading by example, I was able to overcome initial hurdles. It was a period of intense learning that strengthened my ability to adapt and lead.

Q. What has been your most valuable contribution to Katyayani Organics?

My key contribution has been structuring data to make it more accessible and efficient for the company. By automating sheets and improving data workflows, I have enabled faster decision-making and streamlined reporting processes. My focus has always been on solving unstructured data, creating a foundation for efficiency, and enhancing the company’s ability to draw actionable insights.

Q. What has kept you motivated over the past years at Katyayani Organics?

Growth Opportunities: Katyayani Organics fosters rapid growth. In just two years, I advanced from an Account Executive to leading a team and working with top-level management.
Exposure: The tools, department collaborations, and cross-functional activities here have significantly enhanced my skills and knowledge.
Freedom to Work: The focus is on achieving outcomes rather than strictly adhering to procedures. This flexibility allows us to innovate and implement faster solutions without micromanagement.

Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of work during weekends?

My weekends are a blend of personal and professional growth. I spend time researching and learning new tools to upskill for work. I also enjoy catching up with friends, exploring nature, and traveling to nearby cities for a refreshing change of pace.
